Spirit Driving Institute Leila Johnson – Transformation Teacher

I Did It – Received My Masters of Divinity!

What a fabulous way for me to start 2014. I turned in my Master's thesis in November and heard back this month that I passed with flying colors! I now hold my Master of Divinity and am an ordained reverend through Wisdom of the Heart Church.

This accomplishment holds a very special place in my heart because I have been working on it off and on for 3 years and wrote my thesis about my daughter. It is titled, "Sharing Spiritual and Religious Beliefs with Your Preschool Child" and includes a nice library of research showing how parents of different religions and spiritual backgrounds share their beliefs. I weaved in my family story and the ways that my husband and I help our daughter to explore her world.

What a wonderful journey it's been. I have learned so much about myself and my place in the Universe. If anyone is interested in taking a similar journey, I highly recommend attending the University of Metaphysical Sciences.

I feel re-energized now and have relaunched my Spirit Driving Institute Website. You'll see some new Drive. Align. Shift. services for couples. I look forward to working with you and your partner to support you in your health & wellness, career, and spiritual journeys.

Why Letting Your Spirit Drive is Hard

This blog title probably goes against all that you would expect to see on a site about success. Let me explain.

We all go through it. The high of the promise of a new year. We begin telling ourselves, "It's time to turn over a new leaf", "Everything's going to be better this year", and "I'm definitely going to make some changes". It sounds so easy on January 1st.

We're almost two weeks into the New Year. So, this is about the time when you figure out if their New Year's resolutions are going to stick. There is a theory that you have to do something for 21 days straight to make it a habit. Today, we're a little over the halfway point.

This might be the time when you run into a challenge that makes you almost slip back into your old ways. In the last blog posting, I suggested that you Let Your Spirit Take a Spin in 2010. I was referring to letting your Spirit drive in your professional life. If you took me up on that suggestion, now is about the time when you realize something interesting about yourself and all humans: it's just easier to let your Personality drive.

When your Personality is driving, you don't have to worry about looking at the bigger picture of a situation. You can let your feelings out in whatever way you want. You also can make decisions without needing to reflect on them. Sounds a lot easier, doesn't it?

Well, it is for the short term. You'll find that if you continue to let your Personality drive, you won't get the success results that you're expecting. You'll struggle to get where you want to go.

Letting your Spirit drive isn't actually hard, it just takes more of a conscious effort. Eventually, with practice, it will seem effortless.

Here's to going beyond New Year's resolutions and letting your Spirit drive year-round!

Happy New Year

Happy New Year! I hope your holiday season was great. Mine was relaxing and productive. I spent time with family. It was a blast seeing our 14-month old start to understand Christmas, enjoy her presents, and play with wrapping paper!

I had several power sessions putting the finishing touches on my book manuscript. Only a little bit more to go! I'm also finishing up interviews with cover and book interior designers this week. In the process, I've connected with others in the book industry who have complimented my work thus far. That's always encouraging.

Now with resolution season upon us, I thought we could all use a spiritually focused mantra that ties into my forthcoming book, of course. How about "Let Your Spirit Take a Spin in 2010!".

If you haven't already, 2010 is a perfect time to start letting your Spirit drive in your professional life. Listen to the signs you're receiving from the Universe or your Higher Power. You'll begin to get a better idea of your mission and resulting goals.

Here's to much success in the New Year!
